美国总统特朗普(Donald Trump)在当地时间周三(12月20日)表示，大规模的共和党减税法案是“一项令人惊叹的经历”，对美国企业和工人来说是福音。此前，共和党控制下的美国参众两院经过持续多日的拉锯战，终于批准了税改法案，开启了自1986年以来规模最大的一次减税行动。
特朗普称:“我们让美国再次变得伟大。”而这也呼应了他的竞选口号。特朗普声称:“我在竞选中就表示，我们不会再失去我们的企业了。我们将看到至少4万亿美元的资金回流到美国。”
特朗普在白宫草坪上举行了一场特别活动，与共和党国会领袖进行了会谈，以纪念该法案的通过。谈及白宫和国会就这项1.5万亿美元立法进行的谈判时，特朗普表示：“我们经历了很多有趣的事情，感到很开心。”
在特朗普总统发表讲话后，众议院议长瑞安(Paul Ryan)上台，并赞扬特朗普“细腻”的总统领导能力。随后，副总统发表了“圣诞快乐，美国”的祝福语。
特朗普还邀请阿拉斯加州的两名共和党参议员，穆考斯基(Lisa Murkowski)和沙利文(Dan Sullivan)登台。他们赞扬了税收法案中包含的一项条款，即开放阿拉斯加国家野生动物保护区，以增加能源勘探。
本周，税收改革方案得到了众议院和参议院的通过，但预计直到20181月年才能得到总统的签署。该法案包括对企业进行大规模的永久性减税，以及对个人进行更为温和的临时性减税。特朗普暂时推迟签署生效税改法案的原因是他希望能够借此将取消“奥巴马医保”强制参保的时间推迟到2019年，从而对国会民主党人做出让步，避免当前再度爆发的财政僵局令政府在年底关门。
