国际货币基金组织(IMF)周四周四公布的《世界经济展望》修正报告中显示，2015年世界经济将增长3.3%，低于4月3.5%的预估，同时也低于2014年3.4%的增幅,因包括第一季度美国表现趋弱。同时IMF一并警告称，中国的金融市场动荡和希腊问题令未来蒙上阴影。
同时，IMF将今年发达经济体经济增速预估从2.4%下调至2.1%。维持欧元区经济增速在1.5%不变，将日本增速从1%下调为0.8%。
IMF还将加拿大今年经济预估下调0.7个百分点，至1.5%，墨西哥增速从3% 下调至2.4%。另外，预计新兴市场今年增长4.2%，较4月预估下调0.1个百分点。维持中国经济预估在6.8%不变；预计巴西萎缩1.5%，4月预估为萎缩1%。
虽然IMF维持了中国和欧元区今年的经济预估，但却明确指出，两个经济体是潜在风险的来源。中国股市最近几周大幅下跌，希腊也在艰难地与欧洲债权人谈判，以便留在欧元区内。
IMF在报告中指出，“资产价格大幅变化扰乱市场，金融市场波动性进一步增加，仍然构成重要的下行风险。”
此次全球经济增速的下调主要因为美国，IMF目前预计美国今年经济将增长2.5%，4月预估增长3.1%。IMF本周重申，建议美联储等到明年上半年再加息，预计届时薪资和物价增幅都将加快。
IMF认为，美国经济的回撤是“临时的”，随着薪资走高及雇主招聘雇员，这一世界最大经济体的消费和投资仍将加快。但是，IMF也警告，世界经济复苏的风险依然“倾向于下行”。
IMF称，“虽然仍然预计全球经济增速将加快，但尚未切实地实现。通过支持需求和结构性改革相结合的方式来提升实际和潜在产出，依然是经济政策方面的重点。”
IMF还指出了近期希腊债务谈判不顺和中国股市大跌带来的不利影响。
该组织指出，金融市场对于上周日(7月5日)希腊公投结果的反应“相对温和”，风险资产出现了一定的下跌，避险的国债价格温和上涨。
另外，IMF称，正如最近金融市场动荡所体现的那样，中国转向新型经济增长模式面临更大的难度，对全球经济复苏构成风险。
IMF敦促发达经济体维持货币政策宽松，从而让通胀重回目标水平。拥有财政政策空间的国家应当增加支出，尤其是基建支出，同时对发达国家而言，结构性改革仍然紧迫。
