穆迪投资者服务公司周二称，有很大的可能美国不会因即将到来的联邦政府预算和债务上限纷争丧失AAA主权评级。他表示，即将出现的国会纷争不太可能导致美国评级或展望遭到下调。穆迪现在对美国的主权评级为最高的AAA，评级展望为稳定。同样的债务上限僵局出现在2011年夏季，并导致了金融市场动荡以及标准普尔评级服务公司首次下调美国AAA评级。穆迪当时将美国的评级展望列为负面，现货黄金一度上涨至1920美元/盎司。
