伊拉克和乌克兰所代表的政局因素对金价构成支撑。伊拉克方面，政府已经开始主动请求美国帮助，而美国总统奥巴马，也在相关场合说到“美国军队不会重回伊拉克战场，但美国准备在伊拉克采取有针对性的军事行动；另一方面，乌克兰由于拖欠俄罗斯天然气公司费用，俄罗斯方面已经停止对于乌克兰的天然气供应，但俄罗斯对欧洲其他国家的天然气供应还是会从乌克兰境内的管道通过，而后乌克兰境内爆发天然气管道爆炸事件，而现在至少数千名俄罗斯军人重新集结俄乌边境进行军事演习。
