如果連續出現3日或更長的極小波幅日保持區間震盪形態，則預示著市場面臨突破，一旦突破區間震盪關鍵阻力位，很可能爆發連續的單邊極大波幅日；如果連續出現3日或更長的極小波幅日保持同向運行，這個時候需要區分出現在趨勢的起始階段還是末端，或者是區分該段走勢為次要趨勢還是主要趨勢。
大部分情況下，當出現在趨勢的起始階段時，引發的極大波幅日方向更大可能性是順勢；當出現在趨勢的末端時，引發的極大波幅日方向更大可能性是逆勢；當出現在次要趨勢時，引發的極大波幅日方向則更大可能性是順應主要趨勢方向的。
