1、看行情。白银有单边行情和无方向行情。一般，单边行情只在一段时间内，白银均出现单边上涨或下跌的行情。这种行情最好做，投资者只要做好逢低做多，或是逢高做空就可以了
单边行情最宜做中线或者长线，利润空间一般巨大。无方向行情，一般指白银处于可上可下的位置，忽上忽下，或者市场欠缺方向指引，都可以说是无方向行情。无方向的行情中，不适合做中长线，只能做短线，高抛低吸，有赚即跑。
2、看趋势。第二步即应看趋势，可参考日k线，周k线或者月线，及对影响白银的长期因素进行分析，从而判段白银在一段时间内是上涨或是下跌。若入场之先，不先看趋势，一味追涨杀跌，只能惨淡离场。趋势判段后，才好制定粗步的操作目标，若现在属于涨势之中，则应逢低买入，不要逆市而为。若现在处于跌势之中，则应逢高做空为宜。可以说，判段好趋势，已经对了一半。
3、看点位。趋势看好后，还不能贸然进入市场。应该先择好的点位，否则很容易被市场震仓出局。比如白银，一直处于涨势之中，但许多做多的人还是亏了，为什么，皆因入场的点位没有选好。
4、选择时机。白银有自己的规律，一般每年的2-4月份是白银的淡季，可以逢高做空。5-9月震荡行情偏多，中间亦有一定涨幅，可以高抛低吸为要。下半年，多属白银消费的旺季，可以寻一相对的低位，长线做多，至年底，应有可观利润。
5、选择限价平台合理止损。一般是止赚至少是止损的2倍或者3倍，才能保证你的亏损永远小于赢利。同时选择限价平台可保证，交易平台严格按照投资者设置的价格平仓。
