日本财务省10日公布2013年12月份国际收支统计速报，当月日本国际经常帐赤字达6,386亿日圆、赤字金额较去年同期(赤字2,307亿日圆)暴增176.8%、已连续第3个月陷入赤字，日本当月的经常帐赤字金额虽低于Thomson Reuters事先所作调查赤字7,077亿日圆的预估值、惟赤字额已超越前月(2013年11月)的5,928亿日圆再创1985年1月采用现行统计方式以来历史新高纪录；经季节性因素调整后的经常帐为赤字1,967亿日圆(前月为赤字466亿日圆)，连续第4个月陷入赤字。
财务省表示，汽车、钢铁等产品出口增加虽带动出口总额呈现增长，惟因原油、液化天然气等产品进口大增导致进口总额高于出口总额，故12月份日本贸易逆差额达1兆2,126亿日圆，逆差额较去年同月(逆差5,723亿日圆)暴增111.9%，连续第18个月呈现逆差。
12月份日本出口总额较去年同月大增15.6%至5兆8,599亿日圆，连续第10个月呈现增长(前月的出口额为成长17.6%)；进口总额大增25.3%至7兆726亿日圆，连续第14个月呈现增长(前月的进口额为成长22.1%)。
另外，12月份日本经季节性因素调整后的贸易逆差额为1兆2,704亿日圆(前月为逆差1兆79亿日圆)，连续第27个月陷入逆差局面。其中，出口额月减2.6%至5兆6,770亿日圆，3个月来首度呈现下滑；进口额月增1.6%至6兆9,474亿日圆，连续第2个月呈现增长。
财务省并同时公布2013年日本经常帐盈余年减31.5%至3兆3,061亿日圆，连续第3年呈现减少、且盈余金额逊于2012年的4兆8,237亿日圆再创有数据可供比较的1985年1月以来新低纪录。
另外，2013年日本贸易逆差额达10兆6,399亿日圆(2012年为逆差5兆8,141亿日圆)，连续第3年陷入逆差、且逆差额创史上新高水平。其中，2013年日本出口总额年增9.0%至66兆9,694亿日圆，3年来首度呈现增长；进口总额年增15.4%至77兆6,093亿日圆，连续第4年增加。
