國際現貨黃金截止至2019年1月18日2:00報1291.8美元/盎司，隔夜最高價為1295.2美元/盎司，儘管昨日亞盤有所走高，但歐盤無法延續，整體依舊維持震盪。現貨白銀報15.49美元/盎司，白銀則出現進一步回撤。
美國政府停擺進入28日：美國總統特朗普在競選期間承諾，要沿著美國和墨西哥邊境建造一堵隔離牆。現在，由此導致的政治僵局已經造成美國歷史上持續時間最長的政府停擺。雖然有些政府部門還在正常辦公，還有一些部門在由“必不可少的”員工勉力維持，但政府關閉的影響已經遠遠超出華盛頓的範圍。
二次公投消息助英鎊逆襲：英國首相特雷莎·梅政府與反對黨舉行談判以期結束脫歐僵局，但目前鮮有進展跡象。特雷莎·梅因脫歐談判取消達沃斯之行；英國政府下令預備役部隊待命，為無協議脫歐做準備。
