伊朗在8月6日繼續進行軍演，軍演的位置在國際原油運輸要道霍爾木茲海峽。展開大規模海上軍演的目的是展示伊朗本身地理上的優勢，告訴美國並不懼怕經濟制裁的威脅，展現維護自身利益的決心與能力。
美國
美國在8月7日正式重啟對伊朗的經濟制裁，但本次的制裁未涉及到利益核心原油。美國曾在退出伊核協議時稱，呼籲盟友攜手抵制伊朗出售的原油已達到完全的經濟制裁，但後續歐洲方面各國發聲會繼續購買伊朗所生產的原油。
後續發展預測
目前從雙方亮出的手牌上能感覺到關係逐漸惡化，但重新回到談判桌上進行溝通機會並非為零。反而，在一輪交鋒後試探到對面的態度，能夠運用在後續的談判上。相信在美國實施全面經濟制裁的時間前，雙方至少能夠有一次談判的機會。
