耶倫在向國際貨幣基金組織(IMF)和世界銀行(World Bank)指導委員會發表的聲明中強調，主要經濟體有必要繼續支持發展中國家應對新冠疫情、氣候變化和高額債務負擔。
她敦促世界銀行幫助各國，特別是世界上最貧困的國家，及時獲得新冠疫苗，並支持加快談判，為世界銀行下屬的國際開發協會補充資金，用於給最貧困國家放貸——世界銀行計畫在12月前實現這一目標。
耶倫說，美國已承諾向COVAX全球疫苗分發計畫提供40億美元，並敦促其他國家也加入進來。她說，華盛頓正在探索分享過剩疫苗，但她沒有給出細節。美國目前只向墨西哥和加拿大提供了疫苗。
耶倫的發言反映出拜登政府注重加強國際合作來應對全球挑戰，這與前總統特朗普的“單幹”的做法截然不同。
IMF行長格奧爾基耶娃對記者表示，美國和中國這兩個世界上最大的經濟體對各自的復蘇前景有著一致的看法，並“認識到各自國家對積極的溢出效應負有責任”，這使她感到鼓舞。
格奧爾基耶娃說，“像同一架飛機上的乘客一樣，在飛機上我們都是乘客，重要的是他們要同步工作。這樣我們就能飛得更快，飛得更遠，”

她還敦促世界銀行帶頭開展“變革性氣候投資”，並繼續就氣候和危機後的綠色復蘇制定積極的議程。
耶倫的講話暗示包括美國在內的多數國家未來仍將不斷加大財政刺激，提升了市場對未來的通脹預期，利好金價。週四現貨黃金小幅沖高，最高觸及1758.76美元/盎司，為3月1日以來新高。如果能夠頂破1760-1765區域阻力，則有望進一步試探1800關口附近阻力。
