美國12月核心數據超出預期，金價下挫

具體數據顯示，美國12月零售銷售月率實際公佈0.30%，預期0.3%，前值0.2%；美國12月核心零售銷售月率實際公佈0.70%，預期0.5%，前值0.1%。
分析指出，2019年美國零售額穩步增長；美國12月份零售銷售增強，這得益於假日購物熱潮的推遲，美國商人一年來的支出增長較為溫和；2019年全年，零售額增長了3.6%，比2018年增長近5%的增幅有所下降，這是六年來最大的年度增幅，反映了減稅的推動作用。
分析指出，與此同時，消費者可能仍將是經濟的主要燃料來源，因為企業繼續招聘員工，家庭情緒保持高漲；包括服務和商品支出在內的個人消費在去年第二和第三季度創下2014年以來最大的連續季度增幅。
由於消費者在2018年退縮，當時股市崩潰，購物者感到負面的財富衝擊的刺痛感，因此去年12月的銷售增長特別大。恰逢政府關閉。經濟學家指出，可自由支配的支出大部分是在網上完成的，這意味著投資者應關注線上零售商，以瞭解支出波動的可能性。

美國截至1月11日當周初請失業金人數實際公佈20.40萬人，預期21.8萬人，前值21.4萬人；美國截至1月11日當周初請失業金人數四周均值21.63萬人，前值22.4萬人。
細分數據顯示，19年底和20年初，製造業、運輸業、倉儲業、建築業、教育業以及住宿和餐飲業出現裁員，結合週三發佈的美聯儲經濟狀況褐皮書中提到的多行業勞動力短缺問題，可以解釋12月就業增長緩慢的現象。
