分析師預計隨著墨西哥和中國生產水準企穩，圭亞那Liza油田啟動，明年不包括OPEC和美國的產量將增長82萬桶/日；巴西的鹽層下油田開發明年計畫仍有56萬桶/日的產能開始運行，8台海上浮式生產儲卸油裝置(FPSO)中有5台處於提升階段；美國仍將是最大和增長最快的產油國，預計明年總增長85萬桶/日。明年OPEC預計將進一步減產60萬桶/日。
在2020年，美國原油和液化天然氣出口將隨基礎設施產能增長而增長；美國能源資訊署（EIA）早前表示，2019年9月美國原油和石油產品出口量已超越了進口量，是自1973年有記錄以來首次成為石油淨出口國；根據EIA短期能源展望，2020年美國原油和石油淨出口量預計為57萬桶/日，而2019年的平均淨進口量為49萬桶/日。
分析師預期2020年一季度油價受貿易局勢影響最大；儘管今年以來，原油價格已經上漲了近20%，預期原油價格可能在來年第一季度持續上漲，原因是英國無協定脫歐可能性降低，貿易局勢有所緩和，市場再度出現樂觀情緒；同時，歐佩克減產協議執行度提升也將進一步收緊供應；但需要注意全球製造業放緩甚至收縮的前景影響商業投資信心並抑制需求。
