參議院通過基建法案，美元升至三周高位
周二(8月10日)美元指數連續第三日上漲，並觸及約三周最高水準，兌歐元觸及逾四個月高位，因投資者進一步揣摩近期強勁的就業數據是否會推動美聯儲很快開始縮減購債規模。現貨黃金小幅下跌，收報1728.94美元/盎司，美元和美債收益率上漲繼續令金市承壓。 美油上漲3%，從近期的跌勢中反彈，盡管新冠感染病例激增，但有迹象表明美國的燃料需求增加。
美國參議院通過5500億美元基建法案
美國參議院兩黨議員周二以69-30的投票結果通過了5500億美元基建法案，如果基建法案最終獲得兩院批準，各個州都將受益。法案包括約1,100億美元用于道路和橋梁的新支出，730億美元用于電網升級，660億美元用于鐵路和美鐵(Amtrak)，650億美元用于寬帶擴張。
美聯儲官員Evans預計今年晚些時候會看到實質性進展支持縮減購債
芝加哥聯儲主席Charles Evans在談及美聯儲縮減購債規模的標志時表示，我確實預計我們可能會在今年晚些時候看到進一步的實質性進展。如果聯邦公開市場委員會在12月份的會議上做出這樣的判斷，那麽減碼“實際上可能會從明年開始啓動”。希望在做出減碼購債決定之前能看到更多的就業數據，我認為就業數據會出色，我們會對經濟更有信心，財政支持將繼續保持良好，當我們最終決定縮減購債時，如果按照購入方式按比例縮減，就可以了。
